Chris DeVille Author Talk
Way Library welcomes music journalist Chris DeVille. Chris will join Adam Marier for a conversation about his book Such Great Heights: The Complete History of the Indie Rock Explosion. Join us for an engrossing discussion of music, writing, and the songs that defined a generation. Nerdy, fun, and a time machine for millennials, Such Great Heights is about how subculture becomes pop culture, how capitalism consumes what's “cool,” who gets to define what's hip and why, and how an “underground” genre shaped our lives.

Fashion History and "Miss Austen"
Join us for an episode of Miss Austen courtesy of WGTE followed by a presentation on fashions of the time by Kathy Dowd. Miss Austen, a four-part BBC drama based on Gill Hornby's novel, examines the life of Cassandra Austen, Jane Austen's devoted sister, as she faces the heartbreaking decision to destroy Jane's personal letters. Set in 1830, years after Jane's passing, the narrative weaves together Cassandra's present-day efforts to safeguard her sister's reputation and the sacrifices she makes to protect her sister's enduring legacy.
