I'm Adam, a former theater student, film major, book store clerk, video rental manager, stand-up comic, improviser, and vinyl record snob. In my time at the library I've purchased books for the graphic novel section, Photography, DIY, Humor, Transportation and more. I order video games for the library and use that as my excuse for continuing to play them at home. I review comics and graphic novels for the website noflyingnotights.com, which helps librarians, teacher, and parents learn more about new books and how they stack up. My film background exposed me to a lot of World Cinema, independent film, and gave me very firm opinions on the Noir genre. As a self-professed "comedy nerd", I've read a lot on the history of comedy and the comedians who shaped our appreciation of it nationally. One of my favorite duties at the library is ordering for the Humor section and seeing what new books are coming out beyond just comic strips.

One of my favorite fiction genres is Fantasy, which is more than just The Lord of the Rings and A Game of Thrones. Fantasy is having a moment right now as some great books are being adapted for TV and movies. I enjoy some of America's great novelists like Steinbeck and Hemingway, but thanks to my theater studies, I also have a deep love for Arthur Miller and Tennessee Williams.

Request recommendations from Adam.
