You're invited to a special after-hours event!

The Great American Read is a PBS series that explores and celebrates the power of reading, told through the prism of America’s 100 best-loved novels. It investigates how and why writers create their fictional worlds, how we as readers are affected by these stories, and what these 100 different books have to say about our diverse nation and our shared human experience.

This fall, Way Library is proud to celebrate the most-loved novels in America with a series of exciting literary events inspired by the overarching themes in the books—“Love,” “Who Am I?,” “Other Worlds,” “Monsters and Villains,” and “Heroes.”

The celebration begins on September 7th with an after-hours party for all ages featuring:

• community luminaries reading passages from their own favorite books on The Great American Read list
• a premiere airing of a screener for The Great American Read
• a bookish photo booth
• complimentary literary-themed mocktails and tasty appetizers

The party will be held on the library’s main level and is free and open to all; no registration is needed.  Programming for The Great American Read is offered as part of a grant from the American Library Association and PBS.
