On Thursday, September 23, the PBS Program Club co-sponsored by Way Library and WBGU-TV (Channel 27) will watch and discuss the documentary "When Worlds Collide: the Untold Story of the Americas after Columbus." The program will be shown at 10:30 a.m. with the discussion to follow at about noon.
The PBS Program Club has an opportunity to view this documentary prior to its airing on Channel 27 at 9 p.m. on Monday, September 27. It is an imaginative exploration of one of the most intriguing epochs in human history: when the "Old world" first encountered the "New World." What happened in the Americas after Columbus? Host Ruben Martinez, journalist and author of the acclaimed "Crossing Over: A Mexican Family on the Migrant Trail," explores the rise of a new culture that would reshape Europe and the americas not only in the 16th century but in the 21st century as well.
