WBGU-PBS Program Club Sept. 23: When Worlds Collide

PBS Program Club imageOn Thursday, September 23, the PBS Program Club co-sponsored by Way Library and WBGU-TV (Channel 27) will watch and discuss the documentary "When Worlds Collide: the Untold Story of the Americas after Columbus." The program will be shown at 10:30 a.m. with the discussion to follow at about noon.  




The PBS Program Club has an opportunity to view this documentary prior to its airing on Channel 27 at 9 p.m. on Monday, September 27. It is an imaginative exploration of one of the most intriguing epochs in human history: when the "Old world" first encountered the "New World." What happened in the Americas after Columbus? Host Ruben Martinez, journalist and author of the acclaimed "Crossing Over: A Mexican Family on the Migrant Trail," explores the rise of a new culture that would reshape Europe and the americas not only in the 16th century but in the 21st century as well.

Way Library named a Star Library

Way Public Library in Perrysburg, Ohio, has been ranked a Four-Star Library in the new Library Journal Index of Public Library Service. The "second round" of the LJ Index, based upon 2007 public library statistical data published by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, was released on November 15.
