In June of 2012 we had reached the limit of time we were allowed to use our old automation system and catalog. As a result we migrated to a new system. One of the current catalogs we are using is called eLibrary and was created by SirsiDynix (the same software developer as our old system).

Getting to the Catalog
It is easiest to get to our catalog when you start from our website located at http://waylibrary.info. Once there, you can click on the hyperlinks labeled “Catalog” or “Catalog and Account” to get to our catalog. See the image below for the locations of these links.

Please note that our catalog and website are considered two separate websites and are administrated by different organizations. When contacting the library with questions about either, we can answer your questions faster if you are specific about which you would like help with.
Getting Started with the Catalog
We recommend always logging in to our catalog as your first step towards using the catalog. This makes placing reserves, renewing items, and viewing your account information much easier as you do not get redirected away from your intended task.
The easiest place to log in is in the upper right hand corner of the catalog. You can do this from any page inside the catalog. See the image below.

When logging in, you will need to type all 14 digits of your library card number in the field labeled “Borrower Barcode.” You will also need to type in your library pin in the “Pin” field. This is almost always the last 4 digits of your phone number if you own a Way Public Library card.
Accessing Your Account
Once you have logged into the system there are a number of helpful tasks the catalog can assist you with the “My Account” button. The “My Account” button can be found along the top row of buttons, second from right. See the image below.

When you click the “My Account” button, you are greeted with 3 options. Review My Account, User Pin Change and Renew My Materials.

Review My Account
You can use the Review My Account link to view what you currently have checked out, view due dates, and check your fines.

Clicking on Review My Account will take you to these options:

There are two links within the “Review My Account” dialog. These allow you to toggle between two views. The first one is Account Summary (which is also what you are currently viewing when you click “Review My Account.” The second one, “Checkouts, “ takes you to a dialog similar to this:

From here, you can see a list of all books you have checked out, when they are due, and see if you have any fines accumulating. Clicking on Account Summary will take you back to the last screen.
Changing your Pin
By default, Way Public Library sets your pin number to the last 4 digits of the phone number you have placed on file with us. The catalog will allow you to change this number to something else, if you like. To begin this process, click on “My Account” and select “User Pin Change.”

Clicking on the selected link above will take you to this dialog:

Fill in your library card number, your old pin, and type your new barcode twice. Click the “Change Pin” button finalize your new pin. You can also call the library to get your pin changed any time you like.
Renewing Materials
One of the most often asked questions we get is, “How can I renew my materials?” The step by step procedure is listed here:
1- Log into your account (directions listed previously)
2- Click on the “My Account” button (directions on how to find this are listed previously)
3- Click on Renew My Materials

4- Place a check mark in the item or items you would like to renew (Dexter [DVD] is selected below)

5- Click “Renew Selected Items” and you will receive a confirmation screen if your renewal was successful.

6- Click “OK” to return to the “My Account” menu.
