5 Essential Tools for Job Seekers

We all know finding a new job can be a full time job in and of itself.  With today's technology making applying for jobs faster and faster, we've attempted to put together a list of 5 tips to make it easier and keep yourself up to speed.

Tip 1: Having an email address is mandatory

Having an email address while searching for a job doesn't just say you are keeping up to date with technology, it's also the new way more and more employers are accepting resumes.  If you don't have an email address, consider using one of these free email providers:

Gmail - http://gmail.com - Google's free email service
Yahoo - http://mail.yahoo.com - Yahoo's free email service

When creating your email account, remember to try to keep it professional and unrelated to your nickname or hobbies.  You can create a second email address for your friends and family, but the email address you give to your prospective employers should be something they wouldn't mind having on a business card.

Tip 2: Polish up your resume

You can find many online guides, tutorials, and templates to help with making your resume more visually pleasing and putting a lot of information into a small space.
