Join us for this compelling author presentation. Genevieve Geha Kirkbride is a post World War II immigrant and participated in USAID projects supporting non-governmental organizations in Lebanon. She also helped develop the first sister city relationship between Dearborn, Michigan and Cana in Lebanon. Ms. Kirkbride will read passages from Carmen, a story based on actual events of her mother’s life. We will hear how Carmen managed through an arranged marriage, betrayal, and her immigration to the United States through Ellis Island. The story of Carmen was inspired by a shoebox full of long forgotten, hand written notes.
