Join us for this new series of facilitated discussions on current topics. Each session will feature a facilitator with subject matter expertise who can provide national context for the selected topics, while also giving space for participants to talk about the local context. In this session, Dr. Philip Stinson, Professor of Criminal Justice at BGSU, will discuss race, racism, and policing. Over the past five years there has been greater attention paid to issues of race and institutional racism in policing, particularly as to fatal police shootings across the United States. This discussion will focus on relevant literature and research findings.
Registration is required for this program and space is limited. Register online starting September 2nd.
