Do you love to watch things grow? Do you have seeds from previous harvests that you would like to share? Come to Way Library on Saturday, February 24th from 10:00 a.m until 2:00 p.m for Way Library’s first community seed swap. We will also have Bren Haas, a local garden enthusiast and social media blogger, on hand for two informative sessions, Seed Starting and Growing Your Own Food. Bren hosts a popular twitter chat called #gardenchat.
You may bring your seeds in to the Library beginning February 1, 2017. Please bring them in either a brown paper bag, or a white envelope with the following information:
Name of plant (seed)
Where you got the seed (your garden, friend, store bought)
Contact info (name, email)
Seed Starting 101 (10:30am)
Attendees will be introduced to basic seed starting steps. Learn about organic seed starting, what seeds to start early indoors, what is germination and how to make sure those seeds grow successfully out in the home garden.
Grow Your Own Food (12:30pm)
Attendees will be introduced to different vegetables, herbs, and fruits that can be easily grown in a small Northwest Ohio garden providing a productive harvest all summer long.
