Mary Jo Bailin can often be seen coming and going at Way Public Library. She is an avid reader and regularly carries home a whole stack of books. Her visits to the library frequently have a secondary purpose, though. Mary Jo is one of the extraordinary volunteers who generously offer their talents to helping with special library projects and the day-to-day operation of this busy library. Mary Jo enthusiastically volunteers at our book sales, an effort which involves many hours of setting up and sorting before the sale begins. She is also a Book Buddy in our outreach program to homebound Perrysburg residents. Mary Jo’s home visits allow a senior citizen with limited mobility to once again experience the joys of reading. When asked to assist on other projects, such as shifting books, Mary Jo always willingly responds with a “yes!”

Mary Jo started volunteering at the library after retiring from teaching Special Education for 30 years with the Washington Local School District. She and her husband Rick have raised two daughters and are now enjoying being grandparents. In her free time, Mary Jo loves to garden, cook, travel, walk and attend yoga classes. She likes to include a little antiquing, too.

The staff of Way Library would like to personally thank you, Mary Jo, for your dedication and significant contributions to the library. We are grateful to you for sharing your time, talent, and enthusiasm to help make Way Library the center of the Perrysburg community!
