Have you recently received a phone call from the library to let you know that you have a book on “hold?” The call likely came from Pat Thompson, one of the numerous volunteers serving our library on a weekly basis. Pat is a retired elementary school teacher who taught for 30 years at Rosary Cathedral and Sacred Heart School in Fremont, Ohio. After just 1 year of retirement, Pat has become very involved in our community and library. She has recently assisted with the start-up of the Next Chapter Book Club at Way Library. Pat is the lead volunteer for this book club, and has actively recruited additional volunteers to train as discussion group leaders. The Next Chapter Book Club will begin this September.
When Pat has a little free time, she enjoys reading, cooking, and completing intricate counted cross stitch projects. Pat may be “retired,” but she also likes to stay active and loves to bike and attend water aerobics classes. She teaches religious education classes at St. Rose Catholic Church and is also on the Evangelical Team at Historic St. Patrick’s Church in downtown Toledo. Too busy for some fun? Not at all. Pat plays Bunco each month with grade school friends from St. Agnes School. Awesome!
The staff of Way Library would like to thank you, Pat, for your dedication and the significant contributions you have made to the library. You have certainly helped out library staff in the completion of many important projects. It is because of volunteers like you that Way Library is able to continue to be the hub of the Perrysburg community!
